FIGURE STUDY, ANIME & CARTOONING CAMP (9 & OLDER)back to all Programs
|Target Age Range:||9+ year-olds|
|Class Duration:||Half & Full Day|
New this year to Renaissance Camps: Figure Study, Anime, and Cartooning. This camp will help campers develop a unique character and set it into a storyboard. Open to artists 9 and older, this camp is designed for those who want to develop their cartooning & skills by understanding first, the relationship to drawing figures.
The week will start by teaching campers the proper proportions of the human figure. From there, develop your own characters and emphasize, or minimize certain features and proportions to fit their character’s traits. Campers will create a small clay model of their character to use as a reference. As the week progresses, campers will create a storyboard for their own cartoon. Learn to draw from different view points, and consider their framing of scenes as they complete their final cartoon. Each camper can choose which medium (pen & ink, marker, water color, colored pencil) best represents their vision for their final pieces. Open for students ages 9 and older.
